My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: California.
I Work for a contractor? not really sure the title but i was working a weekly based job installing computers for banks. My set rate of pay was 16 an hour and i worked monday-thursday from 4pm till finish. then the following friday we would receive compensation for that previous week.i had direct deposit set up and i got my pay every time directly into my account. Well i worked the week of the 29th thru the 2nd and then the following fridayNOv 9th and i didnt receive my direct deposit.So i called and no answer. I emailed the lady and nothing.. so i figure ok its in the mail maybe for some crazy reason they might have sent it. i work only one day the following week.which was the 5th. so assume that my pay would be added to my account the following friday the 16th. it is now saturday the 17th and still the direct deposit for this check hasnt gon thru.. so now im behind 2 checks and i have one more coming hopfully next friday.2 of my co workers have failed to receive their Pay. What Can i Do? isnt that illegal not paying me the day you told me. and i am a understanding guy but its been over a week without the check i was suposed to get and then again this week they shaft me?
