My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
In august I received an open container ticket. My court date was scheduled for late October. I misplaced my ticket and was not aware if I could pay with or without it due to every number that 311 supplied me with either was disconnected or continually busy. A couple days ago I found this long lost ticket and called once more. When I spoke to the lady I gave her my ticket number and then was informed that the case had been dropped. When I inquiried further she gave me another to call which is disconnected.
My question is this:
Is it possible for a ticket like this to just be thrown out due to the lack of importance. Or just the excess time that has passed.
Also would it say in the computer that it was dropped because I would now have a warrant for a failed court date?
I will be flying in country next month, Im pretty sure nothing would show up because its not international. I just to make sure or be aware of any possible trouble that could come out of the suspicious "thrown out" case.
Thanks.

Was this a stupid question? Just strikes me as strange. If anyone has advice I'd appreciate it![]()
