My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Missouri
I applied to an in-store position with Target.
Four years ago, I was arrested in Missouri. I went to jail and after I was bailed out, they told me that I had to go to court in a month for misdemeanor domestic violence. I showed up to court, but they just told me that they had up to a year to issue a warrant and so I left. A year goes by and a warrant was never issued. I had never set foot in a courtroom before that day and I haven't since that day. I have never been arrested for anything else and I've never pled guilty to or been convicted of anything.
So my questions basically are: Will Target find out my arrest record if they attempt a background check on me? Will Target fingerprint me for a background check? Can they legally discriminate against me for it? If they can't, how would I know if they did?
