My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Michigan
I am working both on my own and with a Voc. Rehab Counselor to find work.
Three times now, I have been asked by an during a job interview to explain my car accident. (My reason for switching career fields varies from "due a car accident, I have a lift restriction, and cannot due things I used to do, such as lifting 50+ lb box repetitively. I thought this career field would be an excellent fit to my skills, experience and interests").
But I have been asked to detail the accident, how it happened, etc.
From what I have read on a thing about disclosing your ability, I have read that it's ok to say I have the hearing impairment, and the back injury....but they aren't supposed to ask for details.
How do I handle this without seeming evasive? (It's not like I want to bring a file on Water Intoxication/Hyponatremia with me, since no one believes water intoxication can happen).
Thanks!
Asked my counselor, too, but since I am getting an early start on job hunting tomorrow....
