Default Inappropriate Suggestions from Probation Officer

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado

Just a quick question. Me and my wife are charged with harassment on each other. Because we have kids, we're now both attending Domestic Violence classes. I don't work due to me going to school full time and taking care of our 3 kids. My wife had informed me during her last meeting with our (as in there is only 1 probation officer in this town) that she was told she needs to quit her job forcing me to get one and do school at the same time and for her to quit paying for my court mandated classes. On what grounds does this woman have the right to tell my wife something in that type of manner? And is there anything I can do about it? As I do fear she is being extremely bias and this is perhaps affecting her judgement in regards to the probation officer's job.

Are you certain that the probation officer actually said this, as opposed to your wife making it up?

It appears your wife received a suggestion to stop supporting someone who committed a criminal act against her. I would think this is within the purview of a probation officer.

Positive, she has had an issue with my wife being the only one working for the time being, pretty much saying that school isn't work and I'm just lazy. She's even hinted at my wife picking up a second job for w/e reason.

Okay, let's try this again. Has the probation officer said to YOU that your wife is to quit her job? Has she said to YOU that your wife is to stop paying for your classes?

no apparently the first part was the probation officer was mad that I quit my job to attend school full time (which I did before the offense took place,I had thought she told her to quit her job, but that is not the case). However the probation officer did say to my WIFE that SHE should quit paying for my classes, b/c if that happened I would have to work to pay for them and if I didn't it would be a violation of the court order.

I find it very convenient that all these remarks, which would be very beneficial to your wife's financial situation and so detrimental to yours, were said at a time when only your wife heard them and that you only have your wife's say-so that they ever happened.

    Call me cynical.

I am sure that that did not come out the way it was conveyed to you. I don't accept any letters of indigency or financial assistance from the victim of a domestic battery. It seems that this PO is the same. You are the one that out your hands on this woman, so why should she have to fot the bill for your crime. That is what the PO is telling ypour wife. You get to skate on the financial obligation and your wife gets to be re-victimized.
