My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Maryland

I have worked for my company for three years. It is a department store. I have worked in multiple locations, but most recently in Columbia, Maryland.

Each year, my company hires seasonal workers and each year the company investigators or Loss Prevention Manager interview associates for no reason at all. I was interviewed by these guys at my previous locations and they tried all these tricks to get me to confess to theft of company property. They said they had me on hidden camera stealing and that they had this investigation on me and I should resolve it with them because it would be better for me. I knew they were bluffing and knew I didn't steal, so I denied everything. They would hold me for an hour and then tell me they were going to put me back on the floor to work and if I saw anyone stealing to call them and I would get a reward.

Each time I complained of harassment and that I felt embarrassed because the security office is by the break room and everyone saw security bringing us in. Many employees called me a thief and a liar after the fact. When I returned to the floor I could hear the cameras moving wherever I walked.

This has happened in 2009, 2010, 2011 and most recently today. A security buddy from another store said they were fishing expeditions and that they had no proof. I have never stolen or done anything wrong at work yet they keep pulling me and harassing me. The store HR does nothing and refers me to the store solutions. I call them and they never find that Their people did anything wrong.

Is it right for them to pull me, call me a thief and embarrass me in front of my coworkers with no proof year after year?
