Default When Do You Go Out of Status if You Stop Taking a Full Course Load

    Hi,

I am not yet sure if I am out of status as the international office says I am in status but the school dropped one course in this quarter .So I am right now registered in one course. My school DSO is not available to speak directly. She will be back on nov 7. The international office said that DSO can keep my status with reduced course load, if she wants to. I have other admit from a decent school where I wanted to move initially. Can the DSO has the right to terminate my sevis if I apply for transfer? Is terminating sevis and out of status one and the same? If I am out of status or if my sevis is terminated what are my options. I've heard previously cases that if we have new school I20 we can start fresh again by going to border stations in mexico and getting stamped.IS the process still going on? My I94 is stamped with D/S .

My background is I came to US on a decent university, transferred to Herguan, worked from the last semester in CPT and then worked one year in OPT.As the Herguan case happened I didn't want to risk my status .So, I transferred to a different university as I didn't have any good schools open at that time.It is accredited. But I have no intention of continuing there so I applied for a decent school and got admitted.

Any help on my issue would be highly appreciated and thanks for your help.

We don't know anything about either school or your program of study. If you can't wait to talk to your DSO at your current school, see what your prospective school can tell you.

I don't know why you believe your DSO might try to prevent transfer, or on what basis you believe that might occur. Care to share any details?

If you believe you are out of status, there's nothing wrong with going home (ideally before you accrue any unlawful presence or time out of status) and reentering once you're properly enrolled in a course of study.

I've never heard of Herguan before, but its website reads like a bad joke.
