My question involves marriage law for the State of: Texas
my name is Martha. i am 20 years old. my husband-to-be, ace, is turning 21 in two days. he has also spent the entire month of October incarcerated in the Denton county jail for missing a court date he didn't know about, one that i couldn't tell him. i was in jail at the time. we tried to keep him out of trouble, we appeared at court the only day we knew, Oct. 1st. we found out he had a warrant, and was arrested.
since he was 16 years old, he has been labeled a public sex offender under false accusations. his childhood friend claims he molested him at 10 years old. his testimony keeps changing, from "after school" to "at a birthday party" and the weapon of choice changed from "a knife" to "a handgun" to "a shotgun" so it's obvious he was merely trying to blame ace for what his uncle had done to him in the past. he's passed lie detectors, and polygraph tests, but to no avail. since then, he's been in and out of detention centers for the last 5 years. for a few minor crimes, yes. but he should've never had to "register" in the first place. there is no evidence supporting his guilt, only a false and ever-changing testimony. the laws in Texas are completely biased. he's setting himself up with a family lawyer, who is trying to get him as a defered-registration case, so hopefully this whole thing can pass.
are there any laws in texas that make marriage in this situation difficult? what about the custody of our future children?
