My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania.
Today i shoplifted for the very first time ever at khols. I have never done anything like this, and never will again. The total for the jewelry was $100. The LP guy did not call the police. He had me sign a form saying i would not go back into a kohls ever again. He said i would receive a Civil Demand Letter shortly with an amount to be paid. If i don't pay that amount then it will be sent to court. I am obviously going to pay what is due. How much is the Civil Demand going to be?
Also, i have been reading online and some people did not receive such a letter. should i call kohls headquarters if it does not come soon?
When i pay the Civil Demand will anything still go to court or will the issue be settled?
Like i said this was the first and last time i have ever done anything like this. I am trying to put this all behind me since i am very embarassed. I am just worried because i have seen a lot of stories online that said kohls sent the letter months later and then also charged them criminally even though they didnt call the cops when it happened.
thank you!
