My question involves labor and employment law for the state ofthe company headquarters is in VA but I interviewed in GA)
After 3 long phone interviews, I signed a Letter of intent, stating I would take the position if the government funding was secured. After the position was funded, the Manager asked me for a photo. I declined once but he insisted 2 more times that i provide photo to proceed.(All on email) Once I provided a bio picture, that same day the same job was reposted on the company website. I talked with the manager via telephone that next Monday. He told me since I was a black man the team thought I wouldn't fit in such a southern conservative white environment. I was so upset I got off the phone and emailed him asking if I should send him another bio picture ( I don't know what I was thinking I was just trying to get job) He told me Yea send him one just so he can have it.
Please help I need advice! Is this a clear case of discrimination? What will the EEOC really do to help me out?
The EEOC website says EMployers should Not ask for photos from applicants until after final offer letter!
Thank you for any advice!
