Default How to Hyphenate the Child's Last Name to Add the Father's Surname

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Illinois

I would like to hyphenate my son last name to my husband last name without having to adopt my child. My husband has been his provider for past 10ys. Biological father lives in California. How do I go about change?

    Please.....Please......Please.....

If you are going to change the child's name don't make them a "hyphen" for the rest of their life. Hyphenated names sound snooty.
