Default Suspension by DMV but Not the Court after a DUI Charge

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California. Back in January, 2012, i recieved a DUI and was involved in a 1 car accident, no harm done to any property or persons besides my car and myslef. I blew a .15 and .14 that night. After i appealed their decision, the DMV suspended my license for a year. I was told by the Court D.A. that they weren't going to suspend my license, and that I have a chance to appeal my suspension once again. Does the court not suspending my license give me a greater chance at reinstatement, or not? What action should i take? I'm aiming to get a restricted license in order to be able to make it to school on time and go to my community service, and Alcohol classes.

Suspensions through the criminal prosecution are judicial suspensions, and are a punishment for your crime.

Suspensions through the DMV are administrative suspensions, and do not require a prosecutor or judge's approval.
