Unhappy What Happens With a Co-Owned Car if One Person Makes Most of the Payments

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Arkansas.
My ex boyfriend and I bought my truck from a local car dealership. It was $10,000. He paid the $500.00 down payment, I paid the monthly payments twice a month every month for 3 years. When purchasing the truck (which was supposed to be my truck, since he had a vehicle and mine had broken down) it was supposed to to be mine and mine only. We were in a wonderful relationship with 2 children at the time. Now we are no longer together and he keeps threatening to take my truck "because both our names are on it with an and". How can I get the truck into only my name? What can I do at this point? I have paid all the insurance, registration, and taxes since I first drove it home. He has never paid for anything besides the down payment. By the way he never wanted anything to do with my truck until his vehicle was repossessed. Please help me, Walking Disabled with 2 children

As a matter of law, it appears he is entitled to it as much as you. I suggest if you cannot come to an agreement, it be sold and 2 vehicles bought.

who signed the loan agreement? If both, then you are both equally liable for full payments to be made.

If both of your names are on the truck, you can ask him to convey his interest to you and then re-register it in your name. If both names are listed separated by the word "or", you may be able to do that without his consent, and can find out at the DMV.

You want to know the mechanics of how to transfer the title? The instructions should be right there on the back. Beyond that, you'll have to deal with the lender - they may have to approve the transfer.

Thank you very much, we have made some progress, he has agreed to sign the truck into my name only. Thank you for letting me know there was a way out.
