My question involves criminal records for the state of: Wisconsin (nonfederal case).
I was 17 but charged as an adult for several misdemeanors for one incident. I got expungement at the time and have had a clean record since. Soon, I will be applying to medical school and need to know when they ask about judicial history how much I need to disclose. I'm assuming it won't show up on my criminal background check (although I'm having one ran now by the same company to verify). It was my understanding that with expungement I would not need to describe these misdemeanors, however some of the questions ask if you were 'convicted' 'plead guilty/no contest' etc. Do these schools have the right to ask this information and what is my obligation to recount these actions?
Thanks for any insights.
