My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Hi everyone,
I recieved a speeding ticket 22356(B) on 08/10/2012, 86 in 70, I received the courtesy notice about 9/01/2012. I mailed (served) three letters of discovery (DA, Court CHP), all were sent with letter of service and were all mailed on 09/10/2012 and delivered on 09/12 and 09/13.
My pay or appear date is at the end of the month (10/30) and I have not received any response.
As you can tell I wish to fight the ticket.
I live in Orange County, and the ticket was in San Bernardino County. I have never been to traffic school and according to the courtesy letter it is an option.
Correct me if I am wrong please.
1. From what I have read it looks like I will have to pay the amount.
2. Inform the court I wish to do Trial by Written Declaration and reserve the option of traffic school.
3. Then wait for them to assign a court date.
4. Within no less than 15 days of the assigned court date, mail in the "Not guilty plea".
5. Wait for response.
6. If found guilty, request trial in person (we will cross that bridge if we get to it.)
Are these steps correct? I tried to read as much as I could but it only left me with more questions.
Any and all information you think is relavent is greatly appreciated!
