My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California

I was sent a notice in the mail from a law firm/collection agency titled "Superior Court of California" and the bold print under case number is the following:

"NOTICE OF MOTION AND MOTION FOR ORDER THAT MATTERS IN REQUEST FOR ADMISSIONS BE DEEMED ADMITTED; REQUEST FOR MONETARY SANCTIONS; DECLARATION IN SUPPORT THEREOF"

Basically the plaintiff is suing me for unpaid debt to a credit card company in the amount of $2600 and an additional $600 (their hourly fees and court filing fees). A date for a non-jury trial has been set already as well as the motion.
I have no means of making any type of payment to them at this time (long story why..I rather not start explaining because will fill up the whole page). I need help in knowing what my options are at this point and what can happen if I don't show in court.

I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
