WASHINGTON: My boyfriend worked all summer long with no money, because it was all paying towards a truck his boss purchased for him. I have a bill of sale, a contract that says when the balance is at Zero, we would receive the title to the truck. A month ago, we received that title, and have been in the process of switching it into our names, but needed a "certificate of fact" because it is a "trustee" title. Anyways, like i said, we have original title, signed over to me by both legal owners, a bill of sale from the legal owners, and a contract between his boss and him. So last week he was "fired", and his boss came and had the truck repossessed! I showed the tow truck guy the title, bill of sale, and contract, he showed me NOTHING! The cops came, I showed them, they let the guy drive off! Now the boss has possession of the truck, and we have nothing for 7 days/week, 12-16 hours of work/day all summer! What are my rights? The cops keep pushing me to the courts, the lawyers in town dont want me because it is a civil case involving police, and i have no money. And on top of all that he still owes him back wages around $1500! Is it also legal in washington to take a car out of an impound lot withOUT a title? someone please help me!
