What is the NY prison and parole board's laws on releasing an inmate who has been in and out of jail for many years, and now serving time for a class C felony, since 2004 ? This inmate is schedule to have an intial hearing in Oct, and the earliest release date for this inmate would be in Dec 0f 2006, while not even serving their full sentence. How likely is it that this inmate will be released after their first appearance to the parole board, especially if they have 2 letters of recommendation from friends/family? I am extremely concerned, since I would have to live near this person. This inmate has had a Class D and E in the past, and now has a class C on possession. If Anyone knows the legal system of NY Parole boards, I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank You.
