My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: oklahoma
When I first opened my account in August 2011, I was asked to make a 500 dollar deposit because, i don't have a social security number ( International student) that would be refundable within a year.
well I called them In july and asked when would i get my deposit i was told i would get it in September so I just waited I followed up on 9/05/2012 at a store and was informed that a check was sent in August but I had not received it. So in order to resolve the issue i was offered two options either a direct deposit into my account or a check. the direct deposit was faster i was told it would take 1-2 business days i was asked to get a bank statement showing that i had made the deposit which i did and it was faxed from the store. so i waited, I was gonna give them a week so, on 9/10/2012 to my surprise i get a call from a Rep telling me that i would get a check within 2-3 weeks I told her that i opted for a direct deposit and it should of been transferred to my account by now. All she seemed to care about was ending the conversation she told me it would take 5-7 business days to be processed I tried to explain the issue and she just apologized with no really solutions. I called afterwards on the same day trying to get my issue resolved basically it was a dead end. 7 business days pastand i called them on 9/19/2012 and the representative told me that her screen shows that it was processed on 9/13/2012 and that it would take 3 days to process
so i asked why i had not received my deposit she had no answer i was transferred to here manager who told me he would make a new case file and mark it as "high priority" i asked how long this would take he told me he would personally call me on the 25th let me know.
As of right now i don't know what to do, 500 dollars is a sizable amount especially for a college student I assume that on the 25th i won't be getting my money but would be told that it would take a couple of delightful buisness days to resolve.
