Default Repossession Based on a Private Party Auto Loan Agreement

My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: New York

About a year ago I have a private party automotive sale to a friend of my family. The agreement was made for a total of $3500, $500 down and bi-weekly payments of $100. I have a written agreement with both his signiture and mine. He is currently 8 weeks behind on payments and I havent received any payment in 5 weeks. I was curious if there was anything I could do about this as far as repossession.
    Thanks for your help.

You titled the car over to him and did not retain a lien? Then small claims court awaits.
