Default How Can I Change or Hyphenate My Child's Last Name

My question involves name change laws in the State of: NV
Hi there. My question is...I was never married to my 3yr old sons father and we have no court papers for custody visitation or child support. I have primary sole custody as law states for in wed mothers in Nevada. I have to jump through hoops to prove my son is mine @ drs appts, signing up for classes and/or traveling. Can I change his last name to mine w out consent of his father? Or hyphen with my last name?

    No.

You need either Dad's consent, or the court's approval.
