Well, I'm here in the united states for the second time on a J-1 program. My program is ending very soon and I'm looking for several ways to legally stay. I'm not subjected to the 2 year rule. I was promised a J-1 extension but my employer decided to just hire us citizens to fill my position and told me that she won't continue with the process. I have a boyfriend that I've been dating for awhile and we were thinking of getting married sooner than planned so I can stay, but we're thinking since my departure date is soon that our marriage might be considered fraud. We do have photos, videos, tickets proving we've both flown to see each other so we can prove that we're really in a relationship and not trying to commit fraud. I've followed all the terms of my J-1 program both times I've been here in the United states, never overstayed, or done anything illegal. Is it possible to stay the legal way? Marriage is our last resort honestly.
