I'm sure this question has been addressed before, and I'm sure you're all used to hearing this kind of situation but we're both very desperate and out of options. We could really use the guidance at this point.
I met my GF in Thailand about 1 year ago, so she decided to come to America on a J1 Visa. She was laid off from her job so she has been informed by her sponsor that she has to leave Sep 22nd now instead of the planned Nov 22nd. We are both in shock and not mentally or financially ready to be separated. Is there anyway we can extend her time in America by even just a month or two to better prepare? Like apply for a status change or 2 year requirement waiver to buy time? Leaving in 12 days is traumatic.
Also if she goes back on time and follows all the rules what are her chances of being able to return on a Traveler's Visa? Will it be harder since she's been here before? I'm terrified that I may never see her again. We are too young to get married so that's not an option. We want to follow the rules and do things the right way but we're desperate to be together. She is subject to the 2 year requirement.
Thank you....
