My question involves tenant law in the State of: New York City
I've been renting an apartment in NYC for over 9 years and have never had any issues with roommates, until now. Roommate (subtenant) moved in 6 days ago and has been nothing but trouble, very aggressive and angry (like slamming doors) and constantly complaining about the space. Can I legally evict her in under 30 days for creating a hostile environment? Gave notice for eviction after she had been here for 3 days.
She signed a five month lease and I have received 1 months rent and deposit. Spoke with a lawyer who specializes in housing and due to lease, she could stay the 5 months but I can start eviction process at the end of lease.
Any advice for creating a case to evict would be greatly appreciated.
