Hmm..lot of people are unaware of floating companies on H1B, you may be a passive investor not an owner, you should talk to an Attorney/CPA and properly dissolve the Company based on the State Laws where it was incorporated.

You may get a penalty or get into problems during GC or Citizenship process. When you incorporate, unfortunately, most states do not ask for your visa status. However, at least I heard some banks are asking for proof of Citizenship or Permanent Residence.

Are you trying to impress people, or just another spammer spouting nonsense in advance of trying to generate business for your website?

What do you imagine to be the benefit of dissolving a company - the issue here is whether or not the work was authorized, and dissolving a company won't change that.

How do you imagine that the OP could be a "passive investor" in relation to a sole proprietorship, through which the OP has told us that he sold his services in return for money?

What do banks have to do with any of this?

Thanks for your replies guys. I still do not understand what should I do in this situation. Do you think I'm better off consulting with a lawyer? If yes, do you have any suggestions?

There's a saying, "You can't unring a bell." All you can do is try to minimize the damage going forward. Consulting an immigration lawyer can't hurt.
