Default 17 Year Old with Straight A's Kicked Out 13 Times

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: California

    Hello,
I am 17 years old and I have straight A's in school and play baseball well enough to get scholarship offers from universities. My father has kicked me out 13 times this past summer. He suffers from extreme narcissism and if he doesn't get his way on things trivial, he blows up and verbally abuses me and when he is finished he just kicks me out. He makes quite a bit of money and my mom is homeless. I have nowhere else to go except sleep with my mom in her car. He usually leaves me on the streets for 3-10 days before he "decides" to let me back in. I was wondering if this is child abuse and or is it unlawful to kick me out

If you are a minor, your father is responsible for your welfare - which he can either provide himself or make arrangements for someone else to provide (food, clothing, shelter, etc.). If he's just tossing you out, it's time for you to be notifying police who will be able to explain to him his legal responsibilities and the consequences for failing to abide by them.

    Hi,

I would talk to your school counselor.

I would think that you and your mom could go to a Domestic Violent Shelter or Homeless Shelter for a while. And also try your area Department of Human Services for assistance, your mom would need to file for any assistance you both can get.

@ aardvarc yeah that's what I need to do. Just let him know. I got kicked out today so I am at the police station right now

@pandorasbox my dad has majority custody. My mom cant provide for me for college, but my dad has the financial resources to do so. And he thinks that because of that I have to do anything he says. Like ending my legal visitation with my mom to come home early because he "wants me to." and then because my mom said no, he got angry and wouldn't let me come back today. I just need someone to tell him to stop all this. He has no reason to be doing all this

But now you've additional circumstances that change the scenario significantly. Dad is NOT throwing you out alone - he's telling you to stay with your mother - who is your legal parent. If mom has a visitation order and dad is violating it, then mom would need to go to court to address the issue. If she's homeless, she shouldn't have a difficult time getting some assistance from LegalAid.

My mom cant provide for me for college, but my dad has the financial resources to do so.
You do realize of course that unless there is a specific order from the court ordering such payment, that dad isn't obligated to spend a DIME towards college, right?
