My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Idaho
I worked for staffing agency. My last day was August 6th (fired). On Friday the Tenth I went to the staffing agency to collect my paycheck for the previous week (weekly pay, payday is Friday for week previous), and to remind them to pay me for work on Monday the sixth; normally you have your employer sign a time slip, but I was called at home on Monday and was told that I wouldn't be returning to work.
Having not received pay, emailed staffing agency on Thursday the 23rd, (they said they would mail me my check, so they were supposed to pay me the previous Friday, so I gave time for mail to go through), no reply, I emailed them again the next day, they responded saying they wanted to make sure that I worked 8 to Noon, took a lunch for an hour, and then worked 1 to five (which I had already told them in person and in writing that I worked eight hours Monday). I said yes. They said they would process my check, the last email from them was on Tuesday of this week (28th).
What should I do now? I feel like I've been jerked around. They knew I worked on Monday, because they called me right when I got off asking how work went. I told them the next Friday to make sure they paid me for Monday. Should I go to the labor board or small claims court at this point? I might just be pissed, but I feel like I deserve something for this hassle.
Thank You
