Default How Often Do the Police Get Good Fingerprints at Crime Scenes

My question involves police conduct in the State of: South Dakota
When a crime is committed, how often can the police get good, readable fingerprints thst they can ID? On what items can they get the best fingerprints? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That is always a possibility if fingerprints are left behind. They don't even really need "good" prints, only enough of one or more prints (since you have 10 fingers) to be able to make a match.

Lots of surfaces are easy - glass, some plastics, varnished wood like mop, broom, shovel, axe handles, grips of firearms, handles of knives, steering wheels, leather wallets, soda cans....it's a pretty long list, even for the "easy" ones. Add in the more challenging ones and there aren't too many items that CAN'T produce useable prints, if processed properly.

If you don't want to be prosecuted for growing marijuana, don't do it. See how easy that is?

I think its pretty easy, most obvious and easiest place would be on a glass. I recently heard a story they found fingerprints inside a toilet roll, only thing the murderer left, everything else was spotless.
