Default Paternity Has Been Established Thru Court, is Child's Last Name Automatically Changed

This is for the State of Florida. My son just learned that he is the father of an 8 year old boy. The child has the last name of the man the mother thought was his father, but they split up so last fall the State started searching for potential fathers to provide support and my son was among those summoned.

My question is now that the paternity has been established through the courts do they change the child's birth certificate and last name to reflect his proper/correct last name?

No, not until your son goes to court and makes such a request.
