No, I wasn't ignoring you pointing out that I missed something. You are correct, it appears that OP's incident did, in fact, occur in Belleview. You got me and I am humbly ashamed of my failure. Since you did, in fact, know the city, you obviously have all the necessary information to pass judgment on OP's incident and I am completely discredited.

    Feel better?

    Default Bellevue, Wa LIDAR (Follow-Up)

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Washington

Hey everyone! This is a follow-up for anyone that can help. Speedy, Brendan, Barry, or anyone else kind enough to help again!

I was the one that received a LIDAR ticket in Bellevue, WA and saw the officer walking away from another car so there is no possible way he could have tagged me. I received the discovery response (posted below). It looks like the his standard response, but is there anything I can use here?

    Thanks guys!

Looks like he used the Pro-Lite+. Maybe this guy wasn't lying through his teeth. Inspiring hope in the police yet again.

Too bad that unit doesn't belong to BPD... Could be a minor typo, but the LR100970, does NOT exist in their binder. Don't believe me? Go to KCDC Bellevue, and ask for the SMD Certificates. When they give you the binder: look long and hard for that serial number - twice. It won't appear.

I just looked through the binder on the 26th. There was nothing different (other than calib. dates) from this document.

WTF at the site you hosted this on... there's like 5 "download" links that don't give you the document. I ain't signing up for anything.

    Unless you're 80, don't call me kid.

Apparently that site's development team is incapable of writing functional cross-browser JavaScript experience. Opera refuses to show the download link because they use a funky implementation of calling Flash, which bombs. Chrome and IE both support the same hack-job implementation. I refuse to release web pages that don't act and display the same the same on ALL platforms. Frankly, that's an embarrassing page full of garbage.

    Brendan,

Thanks for the information. Can you tell me exactly how I can use this? Can I use it to ask for a dismissal? My trial date isn't until December, but I'll make sure to check the binder right before then.

    Thanks for the help,

    Sean

Brendan mentioned that the LIDAR ID is not on file at the court, but I wanted something else in case that didn't fly.

    Thanks guys!

"Your honor, I move to suppress any evidence obtained from the Speed Measuring Device as there is no expert testimony or SMD Certificate for a device with that serial number."
