Sorry, but your (or Brendan’s) anecdotal past experiences do not provide any enlightenment to OP’s specific case. You (plural) do not have any information regarding which officer(s) was/were involved, where the incident occurred, what the circumstances were, or anything else except OP’s impressions of what the officer was doing just prior to the stop. In fact, I don’t see anything in OP to even make the assumption that this incident occurred in either Redmond or Belleview…it could have happened out in George! (yes, dear readers, there really is a little town out along I-90 named George, Washington) Therefore, I stand by my statement that the aspersions were baseless and, apparently, founded on personal bias.

Without more information (like the discovery), no amount of irrelevant anecdotal experiences are evidence that this cop, in this incident, with this poster has or will behave in any way inappropriately or unethically.

You apparently missed the title of this thread.

Well, not the changed title, but every single time anyone responds... it says: "Re: Very Interesting Ticket in Bellevue, Washington"

I can't wait for discovery. This officer is going to lie through his teeth - everything that I said in the earlier post (minus the sarcasm). I'm putting some good money on this.

You know, I really do love getting advice from Police Officers. Especially when that officer was the one who was trying to learn what to write in a report to make it completely "bullet-proof." Because that is SUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPEEEEEERRRRRR ethical. Don't lecture me on baseless claims.

    LIDAR @ how far?

A disproportionate number of posters here when they seem to sincerely believe they weren't going the accused speed, were clocked with LIDAR more often than not. The Light Saber of speed measurement.

Thank you both for your responses. Obviously Brendan is generalizing based on his past experiences, but I'm having a hard time disagreeing with what he is saying (although I would have phrased it a little nicer). Hopefully it's not just a blatent lie, but I'm sure the officers have a blanket statement that they send back with any type of discovery request for speeding tickets. I doubt they would remember what actually happened unless they wrote it in a personal log. We will see, but I'm fullly expecting a generic answer to my discovery request. I'll post as soon as I get it. Thanks again!

I have one big question that needs to be answered. After motioning you to pull over, did the officer walk to his patrol vehicle or did he walk directly to your window?

He walked to his car first. Does that make a difference?

Yes, it does. He could have been holding the LIDAR and put it away.

LOL. Well, I'm flattered that my comments provoke such an amorous emotion.

In spite of your complete mischaracterization of my intentions, I fail to see the unethical behavior or motivation your sarcasm implies. But, that discussion is completely irrelevant to this thread. And, for the record, I wasn't lecturing you regarding your baseless claims...you clearly hold dearly to your personal biases and lecturing you on them would seem an exercise in futility. I was merely commenting for the OP's benefit that information and advice founded on facts rather than bigotry would serve him better.

What, you're going to ignore my correcting your assertion that the OP never said where this was in 'Belleview'? LOL
