Default Caught Stealing from the Register at Work

My question involves criminal law for the state of: SC I recently got caught for stealing like 400 out the register at work. This is my first time, didn't go to jail, but the police said there will be a warrant written next wk! When I turn myself in then do I go to Jail and Do I plead guilty even tho I am & they have evidence?

You need an attorney. They will likely go with you to court to be processed and get you released on recognizance. If you have no record, that is. Jail will likely only come if your lawyer cannot work something out, or you don't/can't follow this process.

Well, since you neglected to tell us where you're located and the actual statute under which you've been charged, it's difficult to say.

    And the charge is....?

Standard response is: Go to court, plead not guilty and request an attorney if you can't afford one yourself.

I dont knoe my charge yet But they have evidence that I did it, and I didn't got lock up that day, Police just said I will be notified with a warrant & I should come turn myself in when I am notified to make it easier. But my manager told me to ask for PTI since I am a first time offender.

You don't need a manager, you need an attorney - one who knows how your local court climate works.

SC considers any theft over $400 a felony. This alone is why you NEED an attorney. It doesn't necessarily wipe the possibility of PTI, but you're certainly in enough of a pickle to have to take this very seriously.
