ok heres the story.
me and 2 other friends got a house together under a monthly lease. we had a friend and his girlfriend that need a place to stay for a bit. so once we moved in, we let them live at our house, and them taking the upstairs. they were only supposed to be there temporarily and now they have been there 6 months now. the couple upstairs decided while they were there to start growing marajuana. none of us knew about it for a while and then when we found out about it werent too happy. they said they were in the process of getting their licenses to grow, and they only had like 4 plants at the time. So we let them have their space and made an oral agreement that whatever extra utilities are owed because of it they will pay the difference. they tore out carpet, tore out a custom built dresser that was built into the wall to be able to make thier "grow room" more efficient. we started having problems with them, and without our knowledge and permission, the male of the couple went to the landlord and somehow he got his name on the lease. him and his girlfriend went to boston for like 2 months, didnt pay utilities, and only paid partial of the rent, becuase one of his friends didnt bring over the rest.
Since he has lived there he has broken 2 windows, that custom dresser and messed up the carpet, didnt pay 2 months of utilities and grew illegal drugs upstairs.
I told him that the money he sent me, since it wasnt even enough for the rent, that i was going to pay the utilities with it and whatever else he has damaged, then if there was any money left over to him, i would give him it.
One of my roommates decided to move upstairs, so he took all of their stuff upstairs and put it all into a pile. I know this wasnt the best thing to do, but im giving you guys all the info. He has till the end of this month to move out becuase he has not paid all the rent or anything else. Now he is threating to call the cops on us and get us arrested cause we moved his stuff and he is "supposivly" going to sue me for the 380 he sent for rent that wasnt enough to pay the rent.
Is there any help anyone can give me of what we can do??? Do we have to get the landlord to evict him?? and since its drug related, could the landlord do a three-day eviction?? I just need some advise and quick. I dont have much money for a lawer so anything would be great.
