My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
I would like to know if it is a crime in the state of New York to attempt to purchase liquor as a minor. I have read about attempts to purchase liquor whilst committing fraud, which I know is illegal, but have not found a definite answer to attempts without fraud. Also, if one were to be caught after the attempt with the alcohol, what would the subject be punished with? And the clerk who sold the alcohol without properly IDing the minor?
