My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan.
I got an MIP in December of 2011. I was sentenced to 8 months probation and a 24 hr. drug test, where I tested positive for marijuana. I recieved a probation violation.
I had a probation violation hearing. The levels were very low and the judge did not take away my right to have the first offense MIP removed from my record. My lawyer took care of it very quickly and my testing color was not changed, just the amount I tested per month.
I have completed the courses and paid all of my fines. I have not missed a test date. August 7th should be my last day.
My probation officer told me I would not have to call in the morning or test after the 7th. But she did schedule me for a 'review' on the 16th.
Shouldn't my probation be complete on the 7th?
Is this review for the judge to decide if it's taken off of my record? If so, was this not already taken care of at my violation hearing?
What should I expect at this review and does it require that my lawyer is present?
