My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA
I was employed at a job where its required to have a drivers license so you can use either company vehicles or your own to get to off-site jobs. I do not have a drivers license but my old manager made an exception for me and worked around it, and was able to car-pool w/ specific other workers. This manager sadly left and was replaced by someone new who was not aware of my lack of license until the next season started at this job.I thought they would probably let me go but instead they sent me to work at a stable location that I car-pooled w/ the whole crew there each day. This location was closed down, and I was laid off shortly after, although they did call me in for work here and there in another department. I applied for unemployment and have been receiving benefits since then. I also received an invitation to go to an orientation for the new season at this job but did not feel that I qualified w/o a license so I did not go. It seemed like the logical thing to do to seek a job elsewhere that does not require a car. I have an interview w/ EDD and am concerned they will see this as a job refusal. I would like to go back to this job but not w/o a car. Any advice please?
