    Default Underage Drinking, age 18

My question involves criminal law for the state of: North Carolina
Just recently I was at a party and ended up having to do a breathlizer; blowing a .002. I was charged with consummation of an alcoholic beverage with being under the age of 19. My question involves what should i expect going into the court date? Should I get a lawyer? What are the repercussions for being found guilty? The officer said I could take an AA and Drug Abuse class and it can be expunged. And what should i expect from the college i'm going into this fall? Technically i start school before I go to court. Thanks for your attention

Read some of the many the many other "what will happen in court" threads. Nobody is going to tell you not to retain a lawyer, and it's a good idea to consult one. A local lawyer can tell you what the local court and prosecutor are apt to do - whether you're in a county that is forgiving, or one that takes a hard line on underage drinking.

As you're under 19, your crime carries a possible penalty of fines and court costs, and possible imprisonment.
