Default Who Do You Contact to File Complant About Civil Rights Violatios

My question involves civil rights in the State of: California

I have had my civil rights violated, the judge made me go pro per and when I went to next court date I was the only one on calendar, should have been my first clue. I was going for a probation violation, driving without a license. Once I was in the courtroom I didn't say one word and the judge decided to by pass the violation hearing and remanded me into custody for 180 days. I would like to know who to contact that will investigate the legal system in my town. The ACLU said it must effect more that one person.

A civil rights attorney. Start with your local yellow pages, or contact your local bar association for a referral.

How? You walked into court with your lawyer and he kicked your lawyer out?

...and when I went to next court date I was the only one on calendar
    So what?

...should have been my first clue.
    Of what?

You were on probation for driving without a license and violated it by doing... something? You were on probation for something else and violated it by driving without a license?

You were at a probation violation hearing, and chose not to present a defense to the probation violation charge?

If you were charged with a probation violation, it went to hearing, and you presented no defense, that's not a surprise.

    What do you want investigated?

At court date before I was remanded I asked for a different public defender, I couldn't get the one I had to return my phone calls. The judge said I had to jeep the one I had or go pro per.

I don't believe it has been done in my town before, being the only one on calendar, I could be wrong.

I was on probation for driving without a license and I was violated for driving without a license.

I was at a probation violation hearing as soon as I walked in and the judge called my case the judge said he was tired of seeing me in his court room and remanded me into custody.

I wasn't given the chance to present any case.

The legal system where I live from the police all the way to the judges.

So you had a lawyer and you chose not to be represented. Sorry, but unless you show valid cause why your court-appointed lawyer should not represent you, such as a conflict of interest, the judge doesn't have to appoint a different lawyer.

But you agree that it's irrelevant?

So this was a bond revocation hearing? A sentencing on your already adjudicated probation violation? Perhaps you don't want us to comment on the hearing or process, but if you do the facts and context matter.

For arresting and prosecuting people who drive without their licenses? I'm sure the Justice Department can't wait to get involved.

I was not a bond revocation hearing, I wasn't out on bail on that charge. I have had my charge changed in the middle of a trial. Bailed out twice on the same charge. Sued my lawyer in small claims court and the same judge who tried my case come to town to hear my small claims case. The list goes on, everyone says they can't do that but they did and there is no one to stop they.

Talk to an attorney. You can file a claim under the Unruh Civil Rights Act in California and a Federal Civil Rights Act action.
