Question How to Move from a G-4 Visa to a Green Card

    Hello,

I have browsed this forum and am amazed by the quality of many of the responses, so fingers crossed I can get some help with my question.

I am currently working in the US for the UN on a G-4 visa. My wife is a US citizen, and for a variety of reasons I would like a Green Card and plan to leave the UN as soon as I secure it.

I must admit I have found the USCIS website confusing and am not sure of the documents I should complete (I am aware I must complete the i-130), nor the exact process to take. I would really appreciate some guidance on the process.

    Many thanks.

    Fred

Beyond the standard (I-130, I-485, I-765), a G visa holder has to file a I-566. Depending on the facts you may need to file Form I-508.

That's not meant to be an exhaustive list - I don't know the details of your situation.
