Ticket for Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri

Yesterday i was at a wedding sitting in my car with my brother. In the car was a bong without the slide a pack of rolling papers and probably .1 of actual marijuana. I was getting out of the car to go to the wedding when the cops showed up told me that someone called and complained that we looked suspicious he then proceded to search my car with consent. He found all of the above and gave me a ticket for possesion of marijuana and paraphenelia. What im wondering is im supposed to be leaving for basic training with the army one month from now. Is there any way that these tickets can be reduced to something that would still leave me eligible to stay in the military or am i just completely screwed?

You had best be speaking with a criminal defense lawyer about your offense and possible dispositions. You should not expect the military to smile on a drug charge, much less a drug conviction, or at the notion that your court date in criminal court may interfere with your service.

Might be a little late, but what I've heard really helps get your charges dropped is if you ask your recruiter to come to court with you and tell the judge how good of a soldier you WOULD be if you didn't have these charges.
