Default GA Division of Property short term marraige

The reason I'm here is that there is very little marital assets to divide. By my count only about 100k for an 8 year marraige. (I am very, very comfortable with the accuracy of that number.) Wife seems to want everything I have. I agreed to give her the house equity which represented 2/3's of assets of the marraige. The she asked for 6000 in support for a few months, I relented and agreed via email. Then she turned around and increased that amount by another few thousand. Anyway when I finally got the settlement statement from her attorney that additional cash and give-me's amount to 12 thou in cash and untold amount in furniture and furnishings. There are no children, she currently resides in house with a 6 month temporary alimony/support. She is able to work, there is no aleged abuse or infidelity, yet most attornies I've spoken with lately tell me to pay her off and get rid of her. By giving her about 30% more assets then an even split and thousands in cash and givebacks. I just don't get it. So I'm looking for advise on what to do next. And have a follow-on question about tactics. She really really wants the house the mortgage is in my name but its titled in both names. If she lets the temporary order run out can I put the house up for sale?

    Default Consultation With Lawyers

You indicate that you have consulted numerous lawyers about this situation, and have received consistent advice. While it is possible that they are all wrong, their consistency gives me pause about trying to second-guess them.

    Default Pay her off

As I said I'm trying to pay her off but everytime I agree to something she comes back with higher demands. After asking an accountant, it seems some of the demands involve tax evasion. Further, I have found there are two types of attornies the ones that want to fight and the ones that want to settle. Two attornies said to pay her off and two attornies said that they would get in there and fight in court. I relented and offered the house before getting into a nastier fight, and now I'm up to the house plus about 12 thou in cash and all of house contents. The mediator said to give her the house but since the stakes have gone up since then I really cannot say that he "settle" for that. One of the settling attornies don't count in my book because he is one reason I got into this mess. I guess I'm looking for the right negotiation stance to roll this thing back and I THINK I need an attorney that will negotiate from a position of strenth, which may involve both tactics. But that's just my gut telling me that, its been wrong before on this. Thanks for your reply, but I was kind of looking for why are they asking me to pay her off, given its a short term marraige, we're an equitable division state and I understand alimony is pretty hard to get, dah dah dah... thanks, Eric.
