My question involves an eviction in the state of: Pennsylvania
Me and my wife have been renting from our landlord for 4-5 years now. When we moved in we had a 1yr lease with him. After the first year we talked about it and agreed to a month to month. During that time we have had no problems with the landlord and had a good relationship with him (He lives next door to us). We always paid on time and are quiet people. He even told us when we moved in that we had elderly neighbors so we respected them (Even though on more occasions that I care to count our landlord could be heard arguing next door to us at 3am with people).
Anyway we found out that my wife is pregnant with our first child and we let him know and he congratulated us. Then his daughter got into an accident that was reported on the news and a few days later he showed up at our house drunk and accused us of posting something online about his daughter. We had never called the police or anything on him when he could be heard arguing and fighting and breaking things next door, that was his business and not our place to get involved, so why he suddenly accused us of it, was beyond us. That happened on Wed., and on Fri. I took my wife to work and returned home around 20min later. When I got out of my car he was on his porch and asked me to come over. I went over and he tells me that his daughter needs a place to stay and that me and my wife have to move out.
No notice was handed to me, no time frame other than soon, and no other information as to why other than his daughter (who before her accident was in section 8 housing) needs a place. We think that even though we made it very clear that we had nothing to do with whoever said what online about his daughter and he told us he thinks he knows who it was and not to worry about it, that he still believes it was us who had said something. What can I do about it cause me and my wife struggle financially but we always paid him on time and now with no notice or anything he wants us out and my expectant wife is panicking way more than she should (chalk it up to the hormones). Thank you.
