Foolish of us, huh? Must be the British influence. Certainly isn't the American.

Canada's been metric for what... more than thirty years? With big signs up at the borders reminding people that "KMH" does not mean "MPH"? You go onto a Canadian expressway and think, "Wow - I get to drive 120 MPH, woohoo!"? Seriously?
I'm pretty sure I'm only a smidge older than you are, so I'm betting that you remember hearing all about Canada going metric in elementary school. I remember it pretty vividly, and I also remember the gigantic screaming fit my Science teacher had when Reagan later defunded the US Metric Board.

I don't even have a drivers license, and I know that they use KMH in Outer Canuckistan.

I've driven in the US, Canada, and the UK, and I can tell you that it takes about one and one half minutes to get used to looking at the KMH on the speedometer instead of the MPH. That is, if you're paying attention, don't expect the entire world to bend to your convenience, and have the brains and common sense God gave the average two by four.

    Yes.

Otherwise we shall be forced to use the Clue By Four.

I thought they entered Canada thru cruise ship? Did cruise ship have signs to remind people that "KMH" does not mean "MPH"?

You can enter Canada through a cruise ship?! WHICH cruise ship is this? Is it a teleportation device or something?

Vancouver is a major cruise port. Check out Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, etc. websites.

And so what if they did? Does that excuse them from following the law? Trust me, there are signs all over the place letting you know that KMH and MPH are not the same thing.

    no, just responding to dogmatique.

Never been to Canada and never rented a car there (obviously). Are their speedometers reverse of ours (KPH is the more prominent display as opposed to ours with MPH as the prominent display)?
