Default Multiple Counts of Failure to Appear for Probation Revocation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: South Carolina.

My finance was arrested two days ago on a violation of probation and 9 counts of failure to appear. He was not informed by his current bondsman that there were even warrants for his arrest. On the violation of probation they set a 3000 dollar bond. Which i can post in full today. They haven't set a bond in the failure to appear charges and from what I heard aren't going to. Could I call the probation office and them work with me on getting him out? If not, what should I do?

Really? This is a guy you want to marry? Ok...I'm not your father and it's none of my business. So, I'll drop that particular topic.

Oh...so, it's the bondsman's fault that your fiancé didn't realize that the court would issue warrants for failing to appear NINE TIMES?!?! The bondsman likely didn't tell your scofflaw fugitive fiancé about the warrants because he/she was hunting him down themself to get his/her money back after your fiance violated his contract with them!

So, you didn't learn from the bondsman's mistake? You're going to flush you own money down the toilet by paying a bail for someone with a demonstrated intention to flee his responsibilities? Do you really think that your fiancé is going to change his stripes?

You are right...they probably aren't going to let him out on bail. He has proven himself untrustworthy NINE TIMES! What was the "probation violation?" Since it sounds like something separate from the multiple FTAs, I'm thinking that it was a new criminal offense? What did he do this time? What was the original offense that he was on probation for? If the state becomes convinced that your fiancé is unreceptive to rehabilitation (which his actions clearly communicate...in fact it sounds like he is striving for career criminal status), the only option left is punishment and protecting society by removing him from it.

As far as what should you do...well, obviously, my advice would be to dump his sorry a$$ and find someone worthy of your trust and affection. But, if you are dead set on squandering your own resources on helping him, take that $3,000 you're offering for bail and hire him a good criminal defense attorney.

The most disappointing thing about this is you quesstion of "what should I do/" What do you think you should do? Should you post his bond? Well, you already did. Should you run for te hills? You know you won't. Should you let him man up and try to be the man he's supposed to be? You should, but you probably won't. Soon, you'll be on this other website I know of complaining about how the system is keeping your man down.

What you should do is NOTHING! What do you really think you can do with this?!? He's making choices that you can't and will not control.

Why are the responses to this person so loaded with venom? Why can't we just try to help folks without assailing them or others personally for mistakes made? I know it's an older post, but I keep seeing personal attacks for people seeking help and advice.

It's okay for you say (well, type) that the posters are full of venom...but it's not okay for anyone else to comment?

And you resurrected a thread from 2012 just to say your piece?

Well, nobody is forced to stay on the board. If you don't like it, there seems to be a very simple option.

Why don't you ask a legal question? Or are you here for no other reason than to be picky?

I'll bite, What makes my comment venomous? This OP is blaming everyone and anyone but her loved on for his mistakes. She asked what can we do? It's not her responsibility. She won't let him take responsibility. She is annoying the PO by calling him to champion for a man with 9 FTA's! So I responded with reality. What was venomous about it?

The other poster did the same thing. There is nothing OP could have done, there is nothing that she should do. That is what she was told. In a way that shows her how her deflection of responsibility of her loved one is unfair and unrealistic to everyone who were actually doing their jobs.
