My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida
If a child is born in one state and then moves to another state and lives there for more than 6 months does the courts still have jurisdiction on the child? She was born in Florida and lived there until she was almost 2, we then moved to another state for work and her father and her siblings were to join us, but he decided to stay in Florida with her other 2 siblings. When that decision was made I filed for child custody for the children in Florida, for the fact they were all born there and our youngest daughter had not lived in the current state she is in for 6 months yet. Since leaving and filing for child custody it has been longer than 6 months she has lived with me and was curious if Florida still has jurisdiction on her and if there is anything I can do with the courts in the new state?
