My question involves criminal law for the state of: SC I was shopping in Wal Mart when I realized I left my debit card in the car. So I went to the front to ask a greeter to watch my cart while I went to get it. The secret security guy comes up with no id, ask what I'm doing & demands I follow him. Of course I refuse. The story ends with him asking the officers to arrest me for shoplifting (because I went passed the register with unpurchased items, 'his words) $240.00 worth of GROCERIES! Juices & snacks & a $300.00 coffee pot marked down to $99.00 that made up most of the 240.00 $2200.00 cash bond that I paid because I obviously couldn't afford $240.00 worth of groceries. Is this a real WalMart policy?
