Default How to Abate Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: IL
I was in an auto accident in Sept 2011 my wife and I hit a deer. I was injured in that accident and was off work for 4 weeks initially and was on and off work from November to February. My condition has gotten worse since I had so many injuries that were under lying. I was removed from work and was placed on short term disability. I kept paying my 181.00 a week even though I was making less until about 2 weeks ago when it ran out and I now have no income. I have tried to get help from many area's none the less my issue is: I was in court today to reduce my child support that I filed over a month ago. I may or may not get long term disability I'm unsure, but I had a policy and it's under review. I filed the motion as prose since I am unable to pay for an attorney. My ex-wife's lawyer ask for a motion to abate until 2 month's from now to see if anything pans out. What does that mean and will I be charged for back support? I am also required to pay 300.00 a month for college and pay all the kids medical and sports and 300.00 in August to get them started for school. I am not going to worry about this because I don't want to stress over anything in my condition which they say is Fibromyalgia. I hurt all day every day and I am on many medications which intoxicate me. I had a very hard time following along and understanding what everything means when I'm that wasted...ugh! Heck is that even legal? So what if any are my options? You can't get blood from a turnip right?!.

    Kind Regards,
    Terry

It's true that you can't get blood from a turnip.

What the attorney has done is request that nothing changes - yet. Therefore giving you a couple of months to figure out if you're going to be disabled (and thus will have an income).

It's also true though that your license can be suspended, and SSDI can be garnished (although SSI cannot garnished at all), for non-payment.
