I live in KY and I have been divorced for 12 years and my ex and I have never been back to court for any changes. He has paid support pretty well over the last 12 years, occasionally a check bounce but he made good on it. He has also paid a bit late, but never more than a couple of days. Right now our daughter is 13 and she is starting to not want to talk to him much or go see him much, especially if a friend has something else to invite her to. Anyway, her dad has been giving her a guilt trip about not seeing her very much, but she sleeps on the couch when she does go to his house, so she doesn't really want to go there much. He did not get overnight visitation in the divorce because she was so young. She has stayed the night, but at my discretion and if my daughter wanted to. To get to my question, right now I have not received the child support for Sept. and it's the 11th, usually it is received around the 1st. I have decided not to call him up and ask because I feel like he feels powerful if I ask him for money. My question is can child support be changed to be paid thru the state without going back to court? I really don't want to go back to court mostly due to the overnight visitation thing, but also I wasn't working when we divorced and now I am a teacher. I never remarried and we don't have tons of income, so even the little he pays does help. If anyone knows the answer to my question about not going back to court to change support to state let me know. Thanks in advance.
