    Default Person Holding Judgement Dies

My question involves judgment recovery in the State of: South Carolina

I have a judgement against me and I'm in the process of fixing my credit report. What happens to the judgement when the person who sued me dies?

The judgement was issued about a year and a half ago. I was in the process of paying off two credit cards through payments worked out with the card companies and did not have the funds to pay on the judgement. I found out that the person died about 6 months ago.

Default Re: Person Holding Judgement Dies

The judgment belongs to the person's estate / heirs.
