Marijuana Possession and Paraphernalia

To start I'm from cook county Illinois and I'm 18 years old with a clean record other than speeding. I was arrested after a party where I was in back smoking with two of my buddies. A cop pulled up and I had my friends bowl and a gram on me. Yada Yada, I was arrested, finger printed, mug shotted, and the whole nine yards. I was never read my Miranda rights and yes they did question me, I know not everyone has to be read them. I was never told of my charges while in the station but I knew what they would be anyways but I just got numbers of the charges which I googled: paraphernalia, underage consumption of alcohol.... And possession of more than 30 grams but less than 500........ What is that all about? Does that mean if I ever get checked it will show I was arrested for a felony (in Illinois)? I was put on a 150 dollar bail and my friend who came and paid didn't have to sign anything like he should have.what can I expect as punishment if I do have a lawyer? Any advice will be appreciated.

Did you get charged with a felony? It doesn't sound like it. I would get a lawyer before your court date and find out specifics.

You can expect a misdemeanor conviction. Supervisions can be expunged, conditional discharges can't. You can expect a probation officer. You can expect supervision fees somewhere around $50 per month. You can expect those fees to rather difficult to be waived. You can expect a substance abuse program. You can expect community service. You can expect a court fine between $220 and $600. You can going to a probation office 1-2 times a month for the next 12-18 months. You can expect that PO to be very stern and strict. You can expect treatment to cast you at least $1000 total.
